How many of you use this or any other social networking site like this? I have never really bothered but am now slightly embarrassed about my lack of online contacts.

I notice that this was posted a while ago, but thought it might be useful if I respond.

I originally joined linked in as one of my colleagues reccommended it to me, that was probably a year ago,  and I've not looked back. It's really just a networking website, but one of the benefits is 'your profile' page where you list your work experience, training and your colleague's/bosses can even reccommend you....which is great as its like having your CV up for the world to see including references. I've even recently been approached for an EA role on it.

I agree, got lots of useful contacts and offers via LinkedIn. Probably the same as every network, if you put something in you get something in return.
